A Surprise 70th

My Grandmother turned 70 years old last Sunday. She and I share an unbreakable bond that I will always cherish, and I wanted to give her a party that would show how much everyone in her life loves and appreciates her and all she does. The planning started back in January and with the help of some of my closest family members, we threw her a bash she will never forget! Here are some pictures from her special day:
The party took place at D.A.R. State Park in Addison and was held under a beautiful A-frame stone pavilion overlooking Lake Champlain.

There were lots of tiny details that went into this party, including these lace and burlap table runners I made.
Love the combination!
These weathered picnic tables fit perfectly with the party theme!

These milk bottles from my husband's old family dairy farm were placed around the pavilion, accented with an elegant peony charm and white lace ribbon.
The desert table was full of goodies including chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting, peanut butter cake (Gram's favorite) and old fashioned candy from the 40's and 50's, to name a few.

This 1943 news kardlet was a huge hit at the party!

Delicious fruit kabobs!

Atop the fireplace hearth were two boards displaying pictures of Gram throughout her life thus far.
Inside this special book, she discovered some of the fondest memories friends and family shared with her over the years.
We enjoyed this stunning view while awaiting Gram's arrival.
Here she comes!
The smile on her face was priceless!

A great time had by all!

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this day special for Gram. I can never thank you enough. The joy it brought her will always remain through the wonderful memories we made that day.

A special thank you to Papa, Mom, Aunt Regina and Tammy. Thank you for all you did to make this such a successful day. I love you.
